Liberia is endowed with abundant natural resources, with forest products accounting for a significant amount of these resources. Liberia’s forest occupies 43% of the remaining Upper Guinea Forest and biodiversity includes 590 species of birds; 125 mammal species; 1,000 insect species, and 2,000 flowering plants, 59 of which are endemic to the country’s 240 timber species, 60 of which have been exported.
